Glastonbury Festival 2017 headliners Radiohead have more than doubled the list of shows for their summer with their latest announcement.
In addition to the already announced, Glastonbury, Northside, Best Kept Secret, Open’er, Rock Werchter and Main Square festivals they've added more festivals, and - brilliant for those who prefer the indoors - some arena dates. See the full list below.
The tour announcement is their biggest yet this year and continues a brilliant campaign for their Mercury Prize nominated album, A Moon Shaped Pool. The LP has the rare problem/blessing in having to compete with the near perfection of the likes of OK Computer, In Rainbows, and The Bends.
But still managed to astound critics across the board upon its release brilliant. It's a more ambitiously arranged record in many ways and it shows their maturity as masters of their craft. It's utterly beguiling stuff and will make for a wonderful festival season.
In association with their latest album, Radiohead already performed three dates at The Roundhouse in May. Tickets for which, sold out in under 20 minutes. Gigwise was invited down and reviewer Andrew Trendell was completely awed by the spectacle that ensued. "Your heart rises to the back of your throat and your centre of gravity lifts a little as you realise that you're watching a band still reaching for the top of their game after all these years," he said.
Since then they've been relatively quiet until being announced as Glastonbury headliners and headliners of other festivals across Europe.
In other Radiohead related news, guitarist Johnny Greenwood is very involved with his Junun side project. It's a collaboration with composer Shye Ben Tzur and the Indian ensemble Rajastan Express. They put out an album in 2015 via Nonesuch Records and have an exhibition documenting the project at Omeara Gallery in London 2 - 8 Novemer. They also headline the Troxy in Limehouse, East London on 4 November.
Here's the list of Radiohead tour dates so far. Tickets for headline show go on sale 4 November at 9am. Check here for more ticket information.
