Russell Brand has revealed that his musician mate Noel Gallagher will join him on the first offering of his new show on Radio X this Sunday.
Earlier today, Brand announced that he will make his return to the airwaves, with him snagging a weekly Sunday morning slot on the digital station.
Speaking about the upcoming first airing to now-colleague Chris Moyles, Brand said "Noel Gallagher's coming on the first show. I asked him nicely".
The pair first bonded over ten years ago, when Brand had a show on BBC 6Music. When the comedian made the move over to Radio 2, Gallagher would frequently be featured as a guest on the show - whether it be in the studio, or phoning in to wind-up Brand and tell stories of his rock 'n' roll lifestyle.
On one occasion, Gallagher called in to tell the tale of him getting "really, really drunk" when taking part in an interview with Paul Weller for Esquire Magazine. "It was supposed to take two hours, and it took six and a half" Gallagher says. Check out the full video below.
The Oasis man also talked about naming the Liam Gallagher-penned track 'Songbird'. "It's a song about his bird" he says. Well, we can't wait to see what hilarity and revelations come from the pair's upcoming radio back and forth.
Brand's radio career came to a sudden halt in 2008, when he and Jonathan Ross were caught-up in 'Sachsgate', which saw himself and Ross call actor Andrew Sachs and make inappropriate comments about the Fawlty Towers star's Grandaughter.
