More about:

Liverpool three-piece The Moonies are signed to indie label Plastic Boot. They're fronted by mini-lead singer/guitarist, Steve Banks, who likes to write letters to dead rock stars for help with his music. Backing comes from drummer Mike Berry and red headed bass player Ryan Clarke.

They're called The Moonies because of Steve's obsession with The Who's drummer, Keith Moon (who Steve believes has helped the Moonies along their way).

They toured with punk legends The Buzzcocks around the UK, The Moonies have been holed up in the studio with The Strokes producer, Gordon Raphael, who saw them at several of the Buzzcocks shows and wanted to capture the live energy of the band. Four tracks were recorded in half a day and are set to be released as an EP.
