Songs about breaking out of a standard routine are, ironically, becoming rather routine, meaning for one to stand out, it has to be a proper banger. Enter: The Clause, and the brand new single ‘Fake It’.

This Birmingham four-piece have been dubbed as one of the best emerging rock outfits in the UK at the moment and when you listen to their newest single, it’s pretty easy to see why. The band have a massive indie anthemic sound which is contagious but at the same time, the way that they portray that sound is accessible enough that first time listeners won’t have any problems getting into it. ‘Fake It’ is a perfect example of this sound and shows the band are only just gearing up.

Pearce Macca, the bands frontman, commented on the new single “fuelled by notions of escaping life stuck in a 9 to 5, ‘Fake It’ tells our story of being fed up looking out of the window at work every day and dreaming of something better,” he said, “driven by our indie-disco roots, the track combines our energetic guitar riffs with lyrics that preach of liberation from everyday life.”

Following the single, Gigwise are happy to premiere the brand new music video. It’s the perfect backdrop for the track, showing the band all suited and booted, ready to put their heads through walls due to boredom at their 9 to 5 jobs. Cut to shots of them playing their instruments and binning off the paperwork, this captures the theme of the song perfectly.

The band hold live music close to their hearts, having a career highlight recently after heading out onto the main stage at Isle Of Wight festival. “That was an incredible moment,” confirmed Pearce, “four mates from school walking out in front of a packed main stage crowd on the first day of a festival we have only dreamed of playing. Isle of Wight Festival 2023 was probably the best weekend we’ve had as a band so far.”

There are plenty of other chances to catch the band live as well as they head out on tour later in the year supporting The Sherlocks. Before then plenty of other big tunes will be released but until that happens, sit back and enjoy ‘Fake It’.
