Gorillaz have unveiled a video for 'Strobelite', the biggest party number on their new album Humanz.
The video takes you to a funky London nightclub scene with the computer generated 3-D graphic Gorillaz characters Noodle and 2-D give their best moves on a 70s style multi coloured dancefloor. They become the centre of attention throughout as Murdoch sits coolly indulging at the bar with Gorillaz drummer Russel Hobbs.
The disco track is a highlight from Demonz and the beat is helped along by silky vocals from Chicago's Peven Everett sit that fit so perfectly on this infectious summer-sizzler.
The video is directed by Stoke native and Murdoc Niccals’ acolyte Raoul Skinbeck and the press release humorously states he "has a long and illustrious career in producing TV ads for a local double glazing company based in Stoke on Trent and Murdoc thought he’d be rather good at making pop videos." A remix of Strobelite by Montreal disco, funk, soul collector and Oolaris prize winning producer in his own right, Kaytranada. This is set to be released on 18 September.
Meanwhile, there's going to be a dancehall remix of Saturnz Barz by Cadenza, featuring all new verses from Mad Cobra, Assassin, Kila P and Teddy Bruckshot in addition to original vocals by Popcaan and Damon Albarn. Perfect song to get in the mood for Notting Hill carnival.
Gorillaz are bringing their awesome live show, that we recently saw in Quebec, to the UK very soon. Check here for tickets
