Oasis’ Noel Gallagher has admitted he completely ripped off Burt Bacharach for his song ‘Half The World Away’ – and is amazed he hasn’t been sued over it.
The song was a B-Side to early Oasis single 'Slide Away', but gained wider exposure as the theme-tune to BBC TV sit-com The Royle Family.
However, Gallagher has now admitted the tune is a straight copy of Bacharach and David’s ‘This Guy’s In Love With You’.
He laughs, “It sounds exactly the same. I'm surprised he hasn't sued me yet.â€
Good job you’ve kept it a secret Noel. Songwriter my arse!
