Fields are set to pioneer a new format with the release of their new single Charming The Flames on Monday (March 26).

The track will be released via a digital vinyl format, which features a unique code etched on the B-side where fans can then go to the band’s webstore and enter the code in exchange for a choice of two new tracks.

Fans can either get their hands on a brand new Fields track ‘Cold Hearted Machinery’ or a cover of the My Bloody Valentine track ‘When You Sleep.’

Unfortunately for the band, the Official Chart Company have ruled that copies of the single sold via digital vinyl will not be eligible for the charts.

Jack Melhuish, Digital Manager for Atlantic Records comments: “We feel strongly that this release is a great combination of the benefits of both physical and digital, allowing for the importance felt by many music fans of owning a tangible format as well as harnessing the flexibility and immediacy afforded by downloads.

“The Fields Charming the Flames digital vinyl straddles both of these with a beautiful etched 7” product and choice of downloads for the fans.”

The band follow the single with their debut album ‘Everything Last Winter’ on April 2.
