Pete Doherty has revealed that he has completed work on his solo acoustic album.

The singer is on the eve of starting work on Babyshambles’ new album with Stephen Street, but has let slip that his own album in the works.

Speaking about the song choice for Babyshambles’ album, he said: "I've got a song called 'Salome' which I haven't done with the band yet. I'm kind of saving it for the acoustic album, you know what I mean? You can't leave it lying around for too long."

Quizzed further about the Babyshambles album, he added: "Well to be honest, I think it's pretty much done. It's just now trying to convince the record company that everything doesn't need to be highly polished."

The NME claims that Doherty’s record label Parlophone want to release the singer’s solo effort after the Babyshambles record.
