More about:

New sounds from Tame Impala x POND collaborator GUM today in the form of 'Out In The World'. Multi-instrumentalist Jay Watson, who produces, performs and mixes every last part of his music reflects and gets brooding on his beautiful new single.

‘Out In The World’ reflects the feeling of accepting guilt and leaving the past behind, alongside an overlay of dreamy psychedelic-pop tones and textures. It's a great new light and airy example of how psych and pop can come together: far more compelling in many ways, than Tame Impala's latest album The Slow Rush...

The song comes with a lovely sepia video of Watson wandering through beautiful landscapes.

See it and hear the song:

Jay Watson describes an inspiration behind the song that's parallel to the beauty of its sound: “Out In the World is about wanting to give up and never talk to anyone ever again after something goes wrong. Some people have that feeling all the time - it’s crippling and isolating” he said.

The track has an overall air of hope though. As Watson shrewdly notes, it sounds just like “light coming through half-shut blinds.”
