The Pretenders have announced a new album this morning. Hate For Sale was confirmed with the release of a new single 'The Buzz'. "If it ain't broke don't fix it", Chrissie Hynde commented on the sound of their new song.

And indeed, 'The Buzz' is an unbroken slice of classic rock'n'roll. Typical sixties riffs, helpless yearning and vocal melodies made to be crooned into your hairbrush at home.
There's more of this to come in all likelihood: song titles like 'You Can't Hurt A Fool' and 'Maybe Love Is In NYC' put us in mind of the most self-indulgent rock'n'roll love sounds.

Hate For Sale will be The Pretenders' eleventh studio album, though the first with the current and long-standing live band line-up.
