More about: Willie J Healey
Willie J Healey has announced his new album Twin Heavy and released a new single titled ‘True Stereo’.
The new number has one of Healey’s most pleasing melodies yet, with soft acoustic guitar clashing with boisterous waves of baritone guitar. The track finding a happy medium between rock and pop, it is refreshingly unwinding, you will be clinging on to every single word Willie J Healey says.
“‘True Stereo’ comes from a good place,” Willie says. “I wrote it while trying out my friend Casper’s baritone guitar. I was like ‘damn this sounds funky!’ I then transferred that tuning to a regular six string, which gave it a really warped sludgy sound. That baritone inspired the whole idea”. Watch the video for the track below:
The video for the new track has Willie play two parts. A man in a yellow coat engrossed in his cassette player and a hunter who stalks his prey, ties him up and drags him across the wilderness. It is absurdly hilarious.
