Following UK Government advice on coronavirus, Meltdown Festival at the Southbank Centre - this year curated by Grace Jones - has been postponed until the summer of 2021.

In a press release this afternoon, Jones said to "stay safe, stay home and see you next year".

The 2020 edition was due to see performances from Solange, Lee Scratch Perry, Peaches, Skunk Anansie and more. Thankfully, all of those bookings have been confirmed for next year instead, including a performance by the curator Grace Jones herself.

Meltdown was slated to take place in May, but follows the lead of Southbank Centre in postponing. The Centre has closed all of its venues until 30 June.

Head of Contemporary Music Bengi Unsal said: "We are pleased to announce that Grace Jones’ vision for Meltdown will still be realised, albeit in June 2021."

Ticket holders will be contacted in early May.

Meltdown Festival curated by Grace Jones will now take place in June 2021.
