More about: Protomartyr
A series of everyday and unusual stills form the visualiser for the latest Protomartyr single 'Worm In Heaven'. A slow-burning grunge-indebted track, it arrives as a gift to sweeten the news that forthcoming album Ultimate Success Today has been pushed back to a July release date.
Vocalist Joe Casey takes 'Worm In Heaven' back to the days of Smashing Pumpkins greatest records with his emotive voice and powerful delivery of dark, philosophical themes.
A tide of guitars rise and fall, threatening to consume but always holding back, melancholy and undulating.

The arresting video the song arrives with is reportedly inspired by Chris Marker's 1962 film La Jetée. “The idea is a sort of dream chamber that has lured its creator into a near-constant state of isolation,” director Trevor Naud explains.
The new single follows Clash-adjacent cut 'Processed By The Boys'.
Ultimate Success Today arrives 17 July via Domino.
