More about:

Young trio Drug Store Romeos have added another quirky song to their perfect discography of lo-fi French pop ditties. With 'Quotations For Locations', the band distil their ethos into something pure and magnificent.

The new single follows 'Frame of Reference' and beguiling debut 'Now You're Moving' as a third equally powerful statement. On 'Quotations For Locations', Drug Store Romeos lead with a repetitive synth two-step, joined by a simple bassline and the child-like vocals of frontperson Sarah.

Knowing, inventive and coy, the single is joined by the perfect visuals: a mash-up of quirky Wes Anderson style shots and collage.

See it:

The first collaboration with Producer Charlie Andrew (Alt J) and Engineer Matt Glasbey (Sorry), 'Quotations For Locations' shows a lighter, creamier side to the trio we previously likened to Charlotte Gainsbourg by way of Mazzy Star.

One can easily imagine a cover of theirs slotting into a Nouvelle Vague album too.

On the new track, the band said: “‘Quotations For Locations’ is a song that zooms in on some intricacies of life which in turn causes you to zoom out from yours. Allowing you to then become completely enveloped in it’s minimalist arrangement and light dancey groove.”

Ears open for more.
