Stirring, badass blues

More about:

Seasick Steve - the man with the best beard since ZZ Top - has shared another stirring single ahead of his new album Love & Peace, which arrives later this month. The accompanying video shows Steve playing his guitar around the coastlines of Australia and California.

Hypnotising and organic, Steve's raw riff-making sounds as though its coming out of your very self. Bluesy and powerful, 'Church Of Me' tells the life story of a self-reliant badass.

Meditative and stirring, the single proves our earlier assessment: that Steve's current work is "as stirring and raw as his early material.”

"You can have your own Church/just call it the Church of You" he sings, advocating for doing it your fucking self. No further comment from the man himself though: "you can figure out what it’s about… or not!” he said in a recent livestream.

'Church Of Me' follows May's 'Carni Days'. It foretells the arrival of his tenth studio album.
