Today (4 September), NewDad are sharing their latest single ‘Blue’. A beautiful cut accompanied by hazy guitars and lush production, it feels otherworldly. Julie Dawson’s ethereal vocals are the final touch bringing everything together nicely on this track.

The Galway band have released a mature number and it seems like they are having a hard time relationship-wise. With influences including The Cure, Clairo and The 1975, ‘Blue’ features the band’s mature songwriting and describes what happens when things in a relationship turn sour. Listen below:

The band explain the track: "The song describes a divide in a relationship. It tells the story from the perspective of someone who wants more, but the other person can't give it to them. It is the feeling of holding someone back because you feel too blue.”
