New Order have announced a huge 2021 homecoming show with Friday 10 September set to see Heaton Park light up with the sounds of 'Blue Monday', 'Age of Consent' and more of those tunes that have made New Order one of Manchester's most important exports.

The group will see support from both Hot Chip and Working Men's Club, the young band who made it onto our Albums of the Year list with their self-titled debut.

In a statement, the band said: "The connection between ourselves and Manchester has played a pivotal role in who we are as a band. We have countless memories from across the city, from our early days starting out, and beyond. We promise to bring a celebration like no other to Heaton Park in 2021, and we can’t wait to see everyone come together for a night we’ll never forget.”

Celebrate the news by tuning into #TimsTwitterListeningParty on 15 December this year at 8pm as the band press play and take us through their most recent album Music Complete.

“We’ve learnt a lot from New Order (including how Bernard likes his tea), and they have made some incredible music, marrying the emotional with the electronic, a synthetic, at times icy beauty with rawness and pop melody..." Hot Chip said. “It’s an honour to play with a band as significant as New Order and on more or less home turf too" Working Men's Club added.

New Order were due to join Pet Shop Boys on an American 'Unity' tour this September, but that's been pushed back to 2021.

Ticket pre-sale will take place at 9am tomorrow (8 December), with general release launching at 9am on Thursday (10 December) here
