More about: Only Sun
Only Sun continue to prove that indie doesn't have to be lookalike and boring with their disco-tinged new single 'Weird Wins'. It's another slice of the forthcoming debut album Tangled Mind, which is out in April.
Staccato disco guitar, dramatic vocals à la Jack White and some classic indie bubblegum make 'Weird Wins' a big hit from Only Sun. It reminds us of The Wombats by way of LCD Soundsystem wearing all black...
Of the new track, the band said: "I wrote the words to this song last winter when it felt my mind was pulling me in so many directions. I was trying to focus on doing some good, but it was noisy up there. My head was being yanked into different realities and at the mercy of any thought that snuck its way in. Thoughts became personalities, and the personalities became puppeteers who controlled my everyday actions and relationships."
The single follows November's 'Extraordinary', the shiny and anthemic lead single from the forthcoming album.
Tangled Mind arrives 30 April via CloseUp/Modern Sky.
