More about:

Indigo De Souza is no stranger to great hooks and flaming instrumentals, and on her return single 'Kill Me', it’s good to see that this hasn’t changed.

Today De Souza announces her next album, Any Shape You Take. A record detailing human relationships in a world of contradictions, portrayed through the eyes of De Souza, leading to a record we can expect to have just as many bold and lofty moments as it does pensive.

On new single, ‘Kill Me’, De Souza explores her own mental health. It's intricacies capture the bleakness of a deteriorating mental health, with honest retellings of her own experiences. Despite the subject matter, the track is energetic, wild, and best of all, raw. Clashing cymbals collide with De Souza’s soaring vocals, resulting in a truly brilliant song.

On the single, De Souza has said:

"I wrote "Kill Me" sometime in 2018 when I was really tired and fucked up in a lot of ways. I was deeply consumed in a big crazy love and coming to terms with the reality of living with mental illness. I recorded myself stream-of-conscious singing it on the kitchen floor at night with my laptop cam. I found the video about a year later, and could barely recognize the person singing. It was such a strange feeling watching the video because I couldn't remember writing the song, but little bits and pieces of it felt familiar to me. It felt like it had been a lot longer than a year."

Any Shape You Take arrives 27 August via Saddle Creek. Pre-order it here.
