More about:

Calva Louise have just shared the next single to be taken from their forthcoming concept album, Euphoric, arriving 20 August on FRKST/ 300 Entertainment. ‘Other Self’ speaks about individuality, with high-speed guitars and a wonderfully dark tone.

Energetic punk guitars, drums and bass pierce the track with a classic alternative sound, with Jess Allanic’s vocals giving the song a distinctly modern edge. The music video sees Allanic wander through deserted beaches and car parks as the tone gets progressively darker. Here’s what they said about the new track:

“Other Self' speaks about the intrinsic meaning of individuality and relationships with people in the everyday world. Simultaneously, it’s about the uncertainty of a possible complementary duality, manifested through dreams. It is not a conversation with oneself, but a conversation with a supposed other self, a premise that the mind can’t accept. In life there are unknown situations that many of us will never be able to understand, especially those related to that feeling that there is something or someone beyond our understanding. And perhaps there is not only a counterpart that guides us through intuition, but also a parallel world full of ideas and thoughts from a different origin than ours, a world where time and space are led by different rules”

Euphoric will be released 20 August with an accompanying animated movie, and a graphic novel arriving at a later date.
