More about:

Deerhoof have just announced their new album Actually, You Can – arriving 22 October via Joyful Noise Recordings. They proclaimed this new musical era with a brand new single, ‘Department Of Corrections’.

The band have also revealed that the album uses only two guitars, bass, drums and vocals, which makes the frenetic sound created in ‘Department Of Corrections’ all the more impressive. With more vocal experimentation and noisy melodies. The band explained that the new single explores the prison industrial complex:

“[‘Department Of Corrections’] is about all the marvellous mysteries of life that don't add up on a ledger sheet or figure into an AI algorithm. It's about Judas going electric. It's about how the human species itself is meaningless without a planet to live on. How we vastly outnumber our would-be masters if only we could get organised.”

Actually, You Can is set for release 22 October on Joyful Noise
