It’s too easy to brush Suki Waterhouse off as a model/it-girl, but with every new tease from her upcoming debut album, Suki is proving herself as one to watch this year. Back with the dreamy new single ‘Wild Side’, this wistful track is one for the 60s lovers.
Reminiscent of 60s girl groups, laurel canyon hippies and through to 90s sad girl rock like Mazzy Star, Wild Side sees Suki’s soft voice being underpinned with a bluesy slide guitar and country dripped elements. Like Britain’s take on Lana Del Rey, her romanticised storytelling gets more captivating by the track.
Nostalgic and bittersweet, Suki commented: “Wild Side is about recognizing each other's past, the beauty and the fear that comes in reminiscing about who you used to love”
The fifth offering from her debut album I Can’t Let Go, we can’t wait for more.
