Sheffield’s Bring Me The Horizon return today with new single ‘sTraNgeRs’. The latest in a stream of singles and features, the band seem to be continuing to step away from their evolution into the current easy-emo sound.

Its been an odd run. Recently sharing singles with pop royalty Ed Sheeran and Sigrid, Bring Me The Horizon have never been a band to shy away from evolution, but they threw us off with those ones. Worlds away from the rock-electro sound they started to carve out on amo and ‘DiE4U’, ‘sTraNgeRs’ sees a return to the 2009 sounds that are dominating the emo space now.

Written on a recent trip to LA, the band said: “the song came out of a long writing trip in LA, and as soon as the lyric ‘we’re just a room full of strangers’ came it took on such a deeper double meaning - how it would feel to be performing it live as that’s what it is.. all strangers connecting on this mad level.. and that it was like rehab.. Coming out of lockdown and the pandemic, everyone is recovering from something and I’m so aware that so many people struggle daily with differing traumas, and just wanted to stress that they’re not in this alone… and we’re a community here to help each other.”

As another offering from their Post Human series, it’ll be interesting to see how they eventually piece these latest singles into a cohesive offering.

‘sTraNgeRs’ is out now.
