In 2020 and for the majority of 2021, we got a glimpse of what the world is like without live music, and suffice to say, we weren’t fans. The live music scene seems to have come back with a bang in 2022 with artists and bands upping their stage presence, developments made in the world of sound engineering and crowds seeming more up for it than ever. There are so many highlights that it’s hard to pick favourites, but that didn’t stop DICE from trying.

The DICE Live Awards are coming up where they are going to be recognising the artists that continue to dominate the live music scene and are considered pivotal in making the live music experience what it is. Previous winners include big names such as Slowthai, Little Simz, Dave and Wolf Alice, so whoever wins this year will be in good company. But who’s nominated?
The official shortlist consists of Fred Again…, Gabriels, Obongjayar, Shygirl and Self Esteem. They’ve been chosen by a number of senior industry figures who have considered testimonials put forward by the likes of promoters, venues, managers and labels. It’s the public who will decide on the winner though as DICE’s top fans are going to have their say in who will take the crown.
The winner will be announced at The Lower Third on 22nd November. Tickets have already sold out but fans keen to go are able to join the waiting list on DICE’s website in case people can’t attend. The awards are making their return after a three-year hiatus so for fans of live music this isn’t one to be missed!
