I have experienced a lot of different emotions upon reviewing a lot of different music, but anger over a track because it was released too late to be on Guitar Hero 3 is a new one. Here we are though, as Velvet Two Stripes manage to bring both something new laced with nostalgia in their new single, ‘The One’.

‘The One’ is the first single from the new album that Velvet Two Stripes have been working on for some time. It’s a song with really consistent and heavy rock instrumentation, with vocals that are both cool and emotive, distant but present, all in all, it’s a hell of a lot of fun to listen to.

“The driving guitar and bass take you on a wild ride,” said the band, “while the voice takes you deeper into the dream but not from the dreamers perspective but from the nightmares perspective. It is a song about desires and conflicts. It is about letting go of fear instead of holding on to it.”

The new single clearly shows what the band have to offer and also highlights their potential effectively as it has already received interest from a number of different music sites such as Rolling Stone and Lock Magazine. If Velvet Two Stripes are able to remain consistent with this quality and in turn release a banger of an album later on in the year, there is no telling where the band might go.
