  • 1990s bass player Jamie McMorrow has shocked fans by announcing that he’s left the band.

Writing on the band’s official website, McMorrow said that he was leaving to “to do something else.”

Although he failed to add any more information about his departure, he did thank all the people that he’d met during his time in the outfit.

Despite his McMorrow’s sudden departure, the band have already found a replacement. Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake will play bass on the band’s upcoming European tour.

You can read McMorrow’s full reason for leaving the band below.

“As of yesterday,i'm no longer a member of 1990s,but i'd like to just say ......I've met so many amazing people since being in this band,it'd be impossible to name them all-so......best wishes to all the folk I've worked with, toured with, partied with and done other stuff with.I'm off to do something else.An extra special mention has to go to the wonderful Kirsten and Lauren, for loads of reasons, but chiefly just for being smashing. And the Long Blondes.....,but i have stop cos who really wants to read a list of names.....you all know who you are.love from jamie x”
