Cheeky Girl Politician To Collaborate With Johnny Borrell

At upcoming gig...

Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Opik is set to collaborate with Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell in London next month.

The MP, who is engaged to one of the Cheeky Girls, and four other politicians will join Borrell at a gig at Science Museum on June 3rd.

Organised by the Friends of the Earth, the concert will call on the Government to include emissions from aviation in the new climate change law.

Currently the Government plans to leave the UK’s share of emissions from international flights and shipping out of a new draft of the law.

Opik, who is being seen as the official leader of the MPs band, dubbed The Aviators, said: “All other sectors of the economy will have to play their part in the fight against climate change, and aviation should be no exception."

Representatives from aviation and shipping won’t be invited to the gig in order to “highlight the unfairness of the proposed law,” a spokesperson said.

Tickets are only available via TheBigAsk. For more information, check out our Gig Guide.
