Lemonheads singer Evan Dando has shed some light on his true feelings about Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain.
Speaking to Gigwise in London, Dando said: “A lot of people are misinformed about that. Not to mention Kurt, who went to his grave misinformed."
When asked if he ever got sick of people asking him about Kurt and Courtney, he elaborated: “Courtney was saying that we were having an affair - I was never attracted to Courtney.
“She was like ‘I made Kurt cry last night’. She is crazy”.
He hinted that Kurt know knows the truth in after life: “It made me very sad and I was thinking, now that Kurt's gone, he knows what really happened. It really didn’t have to happen”.
The Lemonheads singer, due to perform an intimate show in London at the Macbeth in Hoxton also spoke of his great admiration for the Nirvana singer: “Kurt was amazing, he could do so many amazing things but we never really got to know each other as Courtney got right between us. It was horrible”.
The singer also gave Gigwise an acapella rendition of a new song and strummed the song ‘Rudderless’ on an acoustic guitar, revealing the inspiration behind such tunes.
