The National Audit Office (NAO) are investigating the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury Festival to see whether it provides value for money.
Last summer, the BBC spent an estimated £1.5million on sending 407 reporters to Worthy Farm to cover the music extravaganza.
Significant Glastonbury coverage featured on various television channels, the web and on the radio.
The investigation will form part of a report which will scrutinise the BBC's expenditure at a series of music and sports events.
Also being looked at is the Beeb's coverage of Wimbledon and the Beijing Olympics in 2008 when the BBC sent 437 reporters to China.
The National Audit Office's job is to audit central government accounts and report to Parliament on the value for money achieved by government projects and programmes.
