Liam Gallagher has revealed that he uses Twitter as a “weapon” to respond to negative publicity.

The former Oasis singer said the micro-blogging website's invention meant he no longer had to to wait for an interview to hit out.

“I only use my twitter as a weapon or to say thanks to people or if people are gettin’ a bit fresh if you know what I mean,” Gallagher said.

“Instead of waiting 6 months to do an interview to put them in to place do it on Twitter.”

In February, Gallagher famously used Twitter to brand Peter Kay a “fat fuck” after the comedian called him a “knob head” at the BRIT Awards.

But the singer added that he refuses to use Twitter to reveal more intimate events in his private life.

He told live4ever.uk.com: “All that - I went for a poo the other day or I just had a beer or I’m scratching my ass watching Neighbours or..this is ridiculous.

“Who wants to know all the ins and outs of everything?”

Despite claiming to only use Twitter to vent his anger, Gallagher also used the interview to slam The Strokes, Tom Chaplin and Bombay Bicycle Club.

  • Cocaine is a weapon against yourself, it did'nt stop you. Addiction is serious business.
