More about: Blood Red Shoes
Blood Red Shoes have said they were “really flattered” to be asked to appear on the soundtrack to Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
The duo's track 'It's Getting Boring By The Sea' appears at a prominent point in the action comedy, which stars Michael Cera.
In an exclusive interview with Gigwise, singer Laura-Mary Carter said director Edgar Wright was a big fan of the band and personally invited them to contribute after seeing them live.
Drummer Steven Ansell added: “We were dead excited because we'd never been in anything like that.
“And the fact that we got in it because he just likes us instead of one of those industry things where people buy into sh*t or all that crap - he just likes our band.”
The soundtrack to the movie also features songs by Metric, Beck, The Rolling Stones and Black Lips.
Ansell said they were grateful to be in such esteemed company and to have the chance to expose their music to bigger audience.
“The coolest thing about it is the soundtrack record got really high on the Billboard charts in America,” he said. “Our records aren't out in America, so now we've got our foot in a door with an American audience.”

New Material
Meanwhile, the duo also revealed that they were hoping to release new material in the New Year.
“We're recording some new songs in September, which will hopefully be coming out next year,” the drummer said.
“I think it's going to be an EP. We hope, I mean if we f*ck it up we won't release it.”
Blood Red Shoes' last album 'Fire Like This' was released earlier this year.
