TV presenter Stephen Colbert has accused Radiohead of being motivated by greed because of their decision to release their music independently.
Colbert made the comment in jest during an hour-long special of the Colbert Report featuring the band as special guests.
Radiohead broke away from their former record label EMI to release 'In Rainbows' in 2007 using an honesty box format.
Asked by Colbert if they made more money that way, singer Thom Yorke turned to his bandmates and said: “What's the official answer to the question?” before admitting: “Yes.”
Radiohead appear on The Colbert Report.
Guitarist Ed O'Brien then said: “We sell less records but we make more money.”
His response prompted Colbert to joke: “So people are hearing that you're making more money. That means your motivated by greed and that I can respect.”
The programme saw Radiohead perform several songs off their latest album 'The King Of Limbs', as well as the non-album track 'The Daily Mail'.
