The Black Keys: We Honestly Don't Care If Rock Music Is Dead

The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach has admitted that he doesn't care if rock music is dead.

Last month drummer Patrick Carney said that Nickelback are to blame for the current lull in guitar music.

Rock and roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world'', drummer Patrick Carney told Rolling Stone.

He added: "So they became OK with the idea that the biggest rock band in the world is always going to be shit - therefore you should never try to be the biggest rock band in the world. F*ck that.

"Rock and roll is the music I feel the most passionately about, and I don't like to see it ****ing ruined and spoon-fed down our throats in this watered-down, post-grunge crap, horrendous shit."

However, this isn't the opinion of frontman Auerbachm, who has now said that he doesn’t care about the future of the genre.

In an interview with the independent, he said:  Is rock music dead? Ha. Honestly? I

Adding:"As long as music doesn't die, I'll be OK. All that talk is just fads and stories and that's not my job. I don't worry about anything other than playing music. We've always ignored the trends."
