Adele returned to the album top spot on this week's chart with her 2011 release '21', but she does so in the lowest selling week this side of the 21st century.
Official sales figures from the Official Charts Company reveal that last week's album sales were the lowest of the century, down 27.62% from the previous week's shttp://static.gigwise.com/artists/Image/adele200(1).jpgales and 23.19% lower than the same week in 2011. Last week's total album sales of 1,446,218 were the lowest in 640 weeks of sales.
Adele rose to the album chart No.1 once again this weekend, toppling US rapper Nicki Minaj, who recently deleted her Twitter account, from the top spot.
Meanwhile, Canadian pop singer Carly Rae Jepson spent a second week at No.1 on the singles chart with her single 'Call Me Maybe', keeping fellow Canadian Justin Bieber off the top spot.
