More about: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have announced their seventh studio album will be released in March this year.
The highly anticpated record, a follow up to 2010's beat The Devil's Tattoo, is to be titled Specter At The Feast and will be released on March 18.
The new record will see the group staying true to their sonic roots of fuzzy guitars and hefty blues-rock licks.
Following the 2010 death of bassist Robert Been's father, Michael Been - often affectionately refered to as the fourth member of BRMC by the band - the group took a break from music.
Specter At The Feast sees them returning to their first album in several ways. Not only is it crafted with the same musical tendencies as their debut, but they have also recorded it mainly using the same soundboard used for their first record.
The majority of the album was recorded in Dave Grohl's studio in LA, also the same consol featured in Grohl's upcoming 'Sound City:The Movie'.
Additional recording was done at the Rancho De La Luna Studio in Joshua Tree, with the remainder being done in Been's home town of Santa Cruz.
"This record took a ling time to pull together ," says Been.
"I think we all reached the breaking point after our last tour and needed to step back for a bit. These songs brought us back to ligfe and gave us a second chance.
"I've never been more excited to play an album live before, these songs were born to be loud."
