The Libertines have revealed that they only rehearsed for a mere hour before playing their sold-out show in London's Hyde Park.
In a recent interview with Mojo, drummer Gary Powell said that the band had one planned practice session which was due to take place in Hamburg but was disrupted by Pete Doherty.
The iconic musician drove the band away from the designated rehearsal space in the camper van that Doherty currently resides in. Powell stated: "While we were inside looking around he decided to kidnap us and drove off. We ended up down the Reeperbahn getting hassled by some prostitutes and watching the football. Hilarious!"
Before the Hyde Park show, the band were planning to rehearse in the morning but Carl Barat flew from Paris to London a day early as he realised it was "probably what the occasion demanded."
Speaking of the show after it finished, he said: "I'm not sure if it was a triumph but it was certainly unpredictable, as most things with this band always are."
