Black Lips crash Gene Simmons Q&A to call him a 'misogynist'

Kiss's Gene Simmons took part in a HuffPost Live Q&A this week, but the event was hijacked via webcam by The Black Lips, who called Simmons out on his 'misogynistic' music.

The band sent in a video "question" for the event, which featured them in black and white face paint, yelling: "Mr Simmons! We're here to tell you that the day of misogynistic, sexist rock'n'roll is over! We call for the complete and utter surrender of the Kiss Army. Lay down your guitars! Do you accept our terms of surrender?"

Simmons responded: "Yes. I surrender entirely. And I wanted to compliment your mom for the wonderful way that she designed the decoration on the basement she lets you live in. I think it's very attractive. I hope you get to leave your mom's basement soon."

Next, in a reference to earlier comments Simmons made in which he asserted that immigrants should "learn to speak goddamn English", Simmons told the band to "learn to speak English."

When Simmons was told that the questioners were in fact members of the rock band The Black Lips, he said, "But they're not black. What are they, racist?"

Kiss, who themselves are well known for their iconic facepaint, formed in 1973 and have disbanded and reunited several times. Their 20th album, Monster, was released in 2012.
