The two stars of Flight Of The Conchords are set to reunite for a four episode series for HBO, but sadly not in their original musical guise.
Jemaine Clement, currently promoting vampire movie What We Do In The Shadows, recently told The Guardian that the band have been commissioned for a new four episode comedy from HBO.
The prospect of getting the funniest musical duo (who aren't DFA1979) back together still appeals.
“We talk about a movie every so often,” Clement explained. “Sometimes it feels like we lost a lot of impetus over the last couple of years. But Bret, James [Bobin, lead director] and me, we all want to do a musical. It would be good to do something all together … I miss playing Flight of the Conchords gigs.”
However as, reported by Consequence Of Sound, Clement has recently tweeted a clarication - the two will be returning but as New Zealand's fourth most popular folk duo.
Before this rumour gets out of hand - we are not working on a 4 ep Conchords show for hbo... https://t.co/q1607H5vg8
