Charli XCX has premiered her new song ‘Breaking Up’ off of her forthcoming sophomore album, Sucker.
In much the same vein as previously heard songs off sucker such as ‘Break The Rules’ and ‘London Queen’, ‘Breaking Up’ contains Charli XCX’s signature swagger and pop-punk attitude. Assertive lyrically, “you say you love me / Okay, let’s rock,” XCX shows that she knows how to be sugary sweet one moment a la ‘Boom Clap’ and astoundingly fierce the next.

XCX took to the cover of this month’s Nylon Magazine, which was unveiled earlier this week. In the issue she spoke about her confidence, saying: "I feel very comfortable in my own skin right now," she says, adding, "I've never stripped as a stripper, but when I was younger and playing at raves, I would take off some of my clothes— which was kind of weird because sometimes my parents would be there.”
2014 has of course, been a busy year for Charli XCX, and the singer will be ending it with one more milestone by performing on Saturday Night Live in December. The singer tweeted about the performance:
can't wait to fall over/flash my pants/nip slip on SNL on december 13th ;)
