Azealia Banks is holding a competition to remix her single ‘Chasing Time’ for a prize of $10,000.
The Harlem rapper has made the stems of the track available via BitTorrent for amateur producers to download. Once contenders have finished making their remix, they can upload their product here on SoundCloud. At the time of writing, there have already been 150 entries.
The competition closes on 15 December and the winner, who will be handpicked by Banks, will be announced before Christmas. Along with receiving a cash prize, the winner’s song will be released as the official remix for the song.

Earlier this month, Banks finally dropped her long awaited debut album Broke With Expensive Taste, after various delays and feuds with her former label. The ‘Soda’ singer spoke to Pitchfork about how the time passed between the release of her breakout single ’212’ to now, saying: It's really psychedelic, but not in the colourful, Scooby-Doo sense. It was scary. Sometimes I was like, "Oh my God, what the fuck have I gotten myself into? Why'd I take the red pill? I should have taken the blue pill.” It was like I took some medicine that made me really sick at first but ultimately made me better. I made it out. Now, I know what to say and what not to say. I know how to move. I've learned a lot about tact.”
