Joey Bada$$ has been charged with assault after allegedly assaulting an Australian security guard.
The incident, which took place at Falls Music And Art Festival near Byron Bay, saw the usually mild mannered rapper allegedly punch the security guard in the face, breaking his nose. The usually mild-mannered rapper was supposedly challenged by the guard at 8:30pm, just before his performance.
“A 20-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by a man while working as a security guard at the festival,” a police spokeswoman said. “The man was treated for a broken nose and other facial injuries.”
After Bada$$ left the stage he was arrested by local police and has since been bailed. He is due to appear at Byron Bay Local Court on 19 March.
