Courtney Love has claimed that the director of the acclaimed new Kurt Cobain biopic documentary somehow found footage of a sex tape of the rock couple.
Executively co-produced by Love and daughter Frances Bean Cobain, the film is the first authorised biopic of the Nirvana frontman. As a result, director Brett Morgen was given unprecendented access to interview with friends and family members, as well personal and private archives of footage, diaries, notebooks and more.
During his research, he found something a little more personal than he excpected.
"Somehow Brett found the sex tape," smiled Love at the Tribeca Film Festival, reports Billboard. "Everyone makes one sex tape once in their lives."

Responding to why new interviews with Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl do not feature in the film, Morgan said that the Foos man was only available "three weeks after I had locked the picture" and "two weeks before Sundance" - where Montage of Heck premiered. He did add that an interview with Grohl was conducted "and it was awesome" - but was still happy with the film in its current form.
"It's not a talking-head movie, and it's not a movie about Nirvana," said Morgan. "I'm happy with it."
Montage Of Heck is in cinemas now.
