David Cameron apparently spent his New Year's Eve being pestered to do karaoke by Blur's Alex James, while President Obama checked in with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder at the end of his winter break.

If you're still reeling from the fact that David Cameron revealed that Obama calls him 'bro' look away now. According to The Sun (via Buzzfeed) Cameron spent the evening of 31 December "dad dancing" at the cheese merchant's Oxfordshire farm.

“Alex kept trying to get him to sing karaoke and looked like he was almost persuaded,” a source told the paper, before claiming Samantha “looked like she was playing a leg as a guitar at one point”.

In marked contrast the Associated Press reports that President Obama recently concluded his winter break by meeting Eddie Vedder in Hawaii. Obama took both of his daughters, Sasha and Malia, to visit with Vedder and his family in Kailua, following Vedder's extensive support of the President's re-election campaign.

One can only hope they didn't spend their 20 minute meeting discussing how deeply embarassing it can be when politicians and musicians mix.
