Talib Kweli took to his social media accounts to defend his good friend Kanye West after the rapper caused controversy at the Grammys yet again.
At the Grammys last night West made a faux-attempt to recreate his Taylor Swift stage invasion. He then made a statement after the ceremony saying Beyonce should have won the Best Album accolade over Beck.
After fans asked Kweli why hip-hop wasn't standing up for Beck, he told them that fans shouldn't have to stand up for either Beck or Kanye, stressing the importance that both sets of fans should acknowledge them as hugely talented artists in their own right.
Although he also admitted West probably cares a little too much, mentioning that Chuck D and Jay-Z used to boycott the Grammys.
Check out the Talib Kweli tweets on Kanye's Grammy incident below.
When @MrChuckD was saying he don't give a fuck abt the goddam Grammys and Jay Z was boycotting. This the hiphop I grew up on.

Any true music fan knows how incredibly talented Beck is. True music fans also recognizes Kanye's genius & are happy to have him around.

Does Kanye care too much about Grammys and who wins? Probably. But that's what makes him him and I wouldn't want it any other way.
