Irish trio Slow Riot have revealed an impressively epic new song, 'Demons'. Check it out on Gigwise first below.

As introductions go, the pounding drums that herald the Limerick's band arrival are hard to ignore, much like Slow Riot in general. If debut single 'City of Culture' was notable for its explosion of angular guitars and deadpan delivery, reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine or Ride with greater bite, 'Demons' proves that the trio are equally adept at biding their time and building something far more ambitious than their early shoegaze tag would hint at.

At first glance, it's a track that employs a simple ebb and flow effect, before detonating it with devastating results at around the four minute mark. The sound is set to widescreen as riffs screech with greater urgency and percussion thunders with ferocious purpose, demonstrating Slow Riot's breathtaking potential amongst the squealing amps that remain amongst the wreckage.

It's no surprise that Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield has taken a shine to the trio, offering instruments and equipment to assist the band. With tracks as strong as 'Demons', we're not sure that Slow Riot need much help.
