The ever-so charming Beck has decided to treat the staff at his record label to a waffle breakfast after his win at the Grammys last weekend.
Billboard has reported that a message has been distributed to the employees of Capitol Records, in which Beck and Silva Artist Management wrote: “dictionary.com defines WAFFLE as ‘to speak or write equivocally’ …But it is with NO equivocation that e say THANK YOU for everyone’s hard work in helping ‘Morning Phase’ to win not only the Grammy for ‘Best Rock Album’ but also for the ‘ALBUM OF THE YEAR.’ It was a great night and it’s a victory that we all share.”
The message then went on to offer, erm, waffles as a celebration: “As a means of keeping the celebration going just a little bit longer, we’re sending over our friends from the Waffles De Liege food truck tomorrow morning.”
Morning Phase is Beck’s twelfth studio album, and his first since 2008. After taking home the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, Morning Phase saw a sales increase of 945 percent, a mere few days after the event.
In honour of Kanye West’s Grammys rant regarding Beck’s win, a mash-up of Beck’s hit ‘Loser’ and Beyoncé’s multi-platinum record ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’ has appeared online. Check out the track below.
