Seattle police have released photos of the shotgun Kurt Cobain used to kill himself in 1994.
The Nirvana frontman committed suicide back in 1994 by a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. He was 27 years old.
In newly released photos, Seattle police cold case Detective Mike Ciesynski can be seen holding Cobain's gun at different angles. As the Associated Press reports, the photos were taken in June of last year - but it's unclear why they were taken, and why they've been released to the public now.

In August, a judge dismissed a lawsuit brought by TV host Richard Lee, who had attempted to get Cobain's death scene photos released in an attempt to prove that he had been murdered.
