Nicki Minaj's tour manager De'Von Pickett was fatally stabbed in Philadelphia on Wednesday morning, with another member of the tour team remaining in hospital.
Whilst preparing for the Phildelphia date of Minaj's Pinkprint tour, both 29 year old De'Von Pickett and 27 year old Eric Reed were both involved in a violent alterication in the West Oak Lane neighbourhood. As NBC reports, the incident occured outside the Che Bar and Grill and may have focused around an employee who had recently been fired.
De'Von Pickett suffered multiple stab wounds and died at Albert Einstein Medical Centre. Reed was stabbed in the arm and torso and is now in a stable conidtion.
“These guys flew into Philly for my tour rehearsals 2 days ago and were both stabbed last night,” Minaj wrote on Instagram. “#RIPDAYDAY condolences to your family. Unbelievable. Eric (on the right) is recovering. Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad.”
Rihanna, Questlove and Fabolous all paid tributes to the two managers..
