The home that Kurt Cobain grew up in as a child located in Aberdeen, Washington, has been listed for sale.
Billboard has reported that the property has been put on the market for $400,000 (roughly £262,519). The house contains for bedrooms and boasts “marks and drawings” on the wall that were made by a young Cobain. More notably, there is a hole that Cobain punched in the wall as a teenager.
Aberdeen Realty, Inc. posted about the listing and its impact on the history of rock, saying: "The Childhood Home Of Kurt Cobain Is Being Offered For Sale. There Are A Number Of Exciting Possibilities For This Unique Property, Including Moving The Building And Incorporating It Into A Larger Institution Or Private Collection. This Is A Once In A Lifetime Opportunity To Own A Piece Of Rock History.”
Kurt’s sister, Kim Cobain, spoke about the sale of the house, saying: “We’ve decided to sell the home to create a legacy for Kurt. Yes, there are some mixed feelings, since we have all loved the home and it carries so many great memories. But our family has moved on from Washington, and [we] feel it’s time to let go of it.”
