Morrissey has cancelled yet another gig due to illness, just days ahead of his tour reaching the UK later this week.

The Smiths turned solo icon has suffered many blows on the road recently. Last year alone, he had to cancel European gigs due to a flu outbreak, pulled a gig in Iceland after the venue allegedly refused go vegetarian (which they subsequently denied), abandoned a gig after fans invaded the stage, another after being insulted, and he admitted to the world that he'd been battling cancer.

Still, he returned to the UK triumphant for an epic show at The O2 in London

However, now days from his tour hitting the UK, Morrissey was forced to pull a gig in the Netherlands on Tuesday - citing illness as the reason.

"We regret to inform you that Morrissey is forced to cancel tonight's appearance in 013, Tilburg," said the venue on Instagram. "Our stage crew, as well as Morrissey's touring party were already setting up stage and all requirements for tonight's show when we were informed by management that Morrissey is unable to perform tonight due to flu. At the moment we are trying to re-schedule the date for later this month and will advise all ticket holders as soon as possible."

The show had already been rescheduled from last year.

Meanwhile, Morrissey is due to kick off his UK tour at Nottingham's Capital FM Arena on Friday. See ticket details below.

Morrissey's upcoming UK tour dates are:

March 13: Capital FM Arena, Nottingham, UK

March 18: Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff, UK
